Then he shows you how to achieve the all-important pumping effect with sidechain compression and works on shaping some of the transients by adjusting the volume envelopes of certain loops and sounds. Next, you’ll explore the art of subtractive EQ, which is used to help filter out unwanted hum and air so that things stay clean and uncluttered throughout the frequency spectrum. Then Larry shows you how to achieve front-back perspective with compression by adjusting the attack and release times.
