With six dynamic layers, up to eight round-robins, eight articulations, five mic positions, true legato, and an array of superbly designed presets and MIDI grooves, you can take your standup bass performances to new heights. Vintage Horns 3, a collection of virtual instruments designed to authentically capture the sound of horn soloists and sections from the 1930s through the 1970s. This includes some of the most iconic horn styles of the era, such as the Detroit Soul Solo Bari Sax, 1970s R&B Solo Alto Sax, Grungy Rock ’N’ Roll Solo Tenor Sax, and the expressive Jazz-Fusion Flute, featuring wild flutter-tongue and “singing” articulations. Like its best-selling predecessors, Vintage Horns 3 wasn’t created to be a flawless, ultra-clean virtual instrument. Instead, our goal was to craft a collection of brass and woodwind instruments that embody the raw, organic character of horn players from the ‘30s to the ‘70s – complete with the quirks and imperfections that made their performances so memorable. This library draws inspiration from the distinctive playing styles of legendary musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Fred Wesley, Eddie Harris, Wayne Shorter, David Sanborn, and Lenny Pickett, as well as the powerhouse horn sections of Motown, Tower of Power, the J.B.’s, and the Rebirth Brass Band.

Harmonic Tides

Harmonic Tides is an aetherial sound-designed string library crafted from delicately resonant cello and double bass string harmonics. Harmonic Tides with the specific goal of making a uniquely expressive textural sound designed instrument ideal for film scoring. His goal was to create a custom scoring tool that could be just as expressive, versatile, and nuanced as a typical orchestral string library. It’s perfect for modern arrangements and film/game scores whenever lush swells and huge waves of intense feeling are called for. Harmonic Tides has two primary sound sources. The first is a shimmering, delicate and airy texture derived from layered celli harmonic glissandi. This patch is designed to add organic movement to music. Every key is sampled with four dynamic layers. The second sound source is a sharp, hollow sound derived from layered samples of bowing the after-length of strings on a double bass between the bridge and tailpiece. This sound is designed to add subtle tension and movement to music. Both articulation sets feature a wide chromatic and dynamic range, allowing them to be played expressively live with a keyboard or other midi controller.

These feedback drones are one to two minutes long and are available in their full length in the included WAV pack as well as the drone category of Kontakt patches. In addition, many of the drone patches feature extra control to move from one drone to another via the mod wheel. This gives you lots of creative choices & ways to sculpt the sound. From these drones we honed in on different start points along the way to highlight the musical performances and motives from the manipulated musical additions. The drones also were a starting point to create melodic leads, plucky keys, synth sounding basses, engine produced rhythmic phrases and a plethora of amazing sounding pads.
